The Institute on Religion and Democracy hosted the Rev. Andrew Evans of Church of the Resurrection in Washington, D.C. on May 21 for our “Wednesday Worship” noonday prayer and luncheon.
The monthly gathering aims to foster Christian fellowship within the greater Washington area. IRD hosts prominent Christian leaders to deliver sermons, pray, and facilitate worship.
Evans, an Anglican priest, spoke to the IRD staff and guests on Genesis 22:1-19 themed “The Vision of Faith.”
After graduating from Davidson College, where he studied political theory, Evans moved to Washington, DC. He married Stefanie in 2014, and together they lived in Rwanda, Belgium, and London before returning to Washington in 2017. Andrew worked as a reporter, editor, and press secretary before entering seminary full-time. He and his wife are the parents of one child.
