Washington, DC—Dozens of leading Christian and Jewish thinkers will gather December 18-22 outside New York City to deliberate on the future of conservatism. Called “Jewish-Christian Alliance: Reclaiming and Rebuilding Conservatism,” the gathering aims to enhance Christian and Jewish partnership in rejuvenating Western Civilization’s best traditions. Participants will discuss the role of nationalism and religion, the Bible and political order, foreign policy, Israel and obstacles to Christian-Jewish collaboration, among other pressing challenges.

Speakers include radio commentator Dennis Prager, Kings College President Greg Thornbury, Hudson Institute President Ken Weinstein, First Things Editor Rusty Reno, Washington Free Beacon Editor Matthew Continetti, Christians United for Israel Executive Director David Brog and Patrick Deneen of Notre Dame University, among many others.

The event is co-hosted by the Herzl Institute in Israel, headed by Yoram Hazony, and the Institute on Religion & Democracy in Washington, DC, headed by Mark Tooley.

Attendance is by invitation only. Participants are available for interviews. Some presentations may be available in video or text. More information is available on request.

IRD President Mark Tooley commented:

“There’s rarely been a more important time for Christians and Jews to work together on a political theology in defense Western democratic institutions and the moral principles making them possible. The transcendent purpose found in the biblical tradition is essential for the survival and health of our culture and political community.”

Herzl Institute President Yoram Hazony commented:

“The nationalist turn in Western politics presents an immense opening for Christian-Jewish partnership in the public sphere. A Bible-based politics is inherently friendly to nationalism, but only if God is in the picture to channel it toward justice and righteousness.”

The Institute on Religion & Democracy works to reaffirm the church’s biblical and historical teachings, strengthen and reform its role in public life, protect religious freedom, and renew democracy at home and abroad.
