Has Obama’s Faith Developed While in the Oval Office?

For more than two decades, Barack Hussein Obama sat under the “black liberation theology” teachings of Jeremiah Wright, one-time pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago. Some observers now believe Obama publicly describes his faith as that of a “more abstract, social gospel, old-line Protestant-oriented” evangelical.

Florida-based pastor Joel Hunter, one of the president’s faith advisers since he has been in office, states in a CNN report: “There is a deepening development in his relationship with God. He chooses to stay faithful in daily habits of study and prayer and consistent times of interchange with spiritual leaders. I am not sure he did that before he came to the presidency.”
