UMC AFRICA INITIATIVE CELEBRATES THE BIRTH OF THE GLOBAL METHODIST CHURCH
1st May, 2022

God’s Church is born! The Global Methodist Church(GMC)! This is the dawning of a new day! To God be the Glory! We joyfully welcome the birth of the GMC. We celebrate and congratulate everyone who has been a part of this process, whom God has used to create a safe space where believers in Jesus Christ from across the global Community-Africa, Asia, Europe, South America, North America and Australia can commit to making disciples of Jesus Christ, and expressing the love of God to all humanity through our services to the church and society.

The UMC Africa Initiative congratulates members the WCA’s Global Leadership Council, and Transitional Leadership Council for launching the GMC! To God be the glory! We welcome the Global Methodist Church to Africa as a faithful, Christ-centered Wesleyan Evangelical Partner toward the fulfillment of the Great Commission of Jesus Christ.

Our fervent prayer to God for current and future members of the GMC is this:

Savior, like a Shepherd, please lead us in the path of righteousness for your name’s sake. Help us to do the right thing in word, and deed as your faithful and obedient disciples. Lead us with a common vision, mission, passion and commitment to living out our Christian faith and proclaiming the undiluted Word of God, not with words of human wisdom, but with wisdom endowed by the Holy Spirit. Grant us the grace and fortitude to stand firm, unmovable, always abounding in the Word of the Lord, contending for the faith once delivered to the saints. So that by doing so we might accelerate the spread of the Gospel of Jesus Christ through leaders of leaders empowered by the Holy Spirit.

Equip and empower us by your Holy Spirit to establish and grow congregations that are biblically committed, Christ-centered, evangelistically functional, mission-minded, socially adaptable, cross-culturally and interculturally sensitive, contextually relevant, accountable, credible, financially sustainable, and vision-driven. So that we might evangelize the nations, revitalize the church and transform society to the glory and honor of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Amen.

We, who long ago gave up on the UMC, are praying for you, BMC. We are praying that you will be humble and faithful and loving – and will not fall into the arrogant error of the UMC. Bless you.

What a wonderful prayer and a hopeful future for the faithful in Africa.

So, David, what’s the BMC? (Shouldn’t that be the GMC?)

And the BMC/GMC is an entitative of the United Methodist Church?

So, we’re exchanging “Global” for “United”?

Some of us thought the UMC has been “Global” for a long time.

All this repositioning of nomenclature has the laity befuddled. And me, too.

It sounds like the Independent Fundamentalist Baptist Global Methodist Church (IFBGMC) to me. You might as well forget the GMC and join an Independent Fundamentalist Baptist Church. Six of one—-half a dozen of the other. What’s next? Wait? I know!!! The Global Methodist Church believes that 100 percent of Biblical scripture is inerrant and infallible in the original texts (which no one has—by the way) and the Bible should be read simply and literally—-like a Superman comic book.

You GMC people are pathetic beyond words and would be laughed out of any highly respected Protestant Pecan Divinity School on planet Earth. I am so glad the new GMC is leaving the UMC’s behind in a cloud of brown dust. I bet you guys actually think there is going to be a “rapture” one day, and the United Nations is the future seat of the “Little Orphan Annie-Christ.” What are you going to do? Require your future pastors to attend the Possum Holler College of the Bible to get an advanced degree and form a quartet to sing southern gospel “Hims” at the Grand Ole Opry? Idiots!!!

The work of IRD is made possible by your generous contributions.
