How Should Christians Think About the War in Ukraine?

Collin Bastian on April 20, 2022

We at the Institute on Religion and Democracy were pleased to sponsor an event at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary between Daniel Darling, the Director of the Land Center for Cultural Engagement at SWBTS, and Paul Miller, Georgetown University Professor of the Practice of International Affairs, as they discussed the ongoing situation in Ukraine and how Christians should think about the conflict.

You can view the video down below to watch the interview in its entirety, where they touched on the topics of Christian realism, just war principles, and the facts on the ground.

This is a great service to the church and I applaud IRD’s work and this article. It would be nice if other groups in the church (like denominations and affiliated non-denominational groups) would talk about things like this. Sadly, the US church isn’t interested, as your recent article about the ‘Theology in the Raw’ conference (insert joke about the name here) shows that it’s too busy with trivia and wallowing in misery to deal with real issues.

This was nothing more than an anti-Putin anti-Russia diatribe. This fellow ought to be on NATO’s payroll.

The work of IRD is made possible by your generous contributions.
