Dear Friends of the Persecuted Church:
I want to share with you the news that I have been asked to co-lead the Suffering Church Network for GAFCON, the Global Anglican Future Conference movement, with my friend and brother in Christ, Rt. Reverend Andudu Adam Elnail, Bishop of Kadugli and Nuba Mountains, Sudan. This is an exciting addition to my work with the Anglican Persecuted Church Network of the New Wineskins Missions Network.
Below is GAFCON’s announcement, along with the announcement that I will be writing a series of Lenten devotions that will available on the GAFCON website as well as by subscription to your own smart phone or other device.
I invite you to read the devotions when they appear, beginning with Tuesday, February 25, (whether you are an Anglican or not!). Join us to pray and be advocates for our persecuted Christian brother and sisters around the world. We will also post those devotions here at Juicy Ecumenism as downloadable documents.
Every blessing in Jesus,
Faith
The Suffering Church Network encourages, connects and advocates for our brothers and sisters in many parts of the world who are suffering for the sake of Christ.
Bishop Andudu Elnail from Sudan has been working tirelessly for his people in the Nuba Mountains, where they have experienced extreme suffering at the hands of the government led by former President Omar al Bashir.
Faith McDonnell has been a voice for the suffering for 26 years and has contacts all over the world.
Together they will be leading the Suffering Church network and bringing regular news, prayer requests and projects.
During Lent Faith will be writing a special series of daily Lift Up Your Hearts devotions which focus our thoughts and prayers on the suffering church.

We hope these Lenten devotions will be a great encouragement and challenge to speak up and pray for those who are persecuted for the sake of the Gospel.
Yours in Christ,
The Gafcon Secretariat
