VIDEO: The Political Theology of Martin Luther King, Jr.

The Institute on Religion & Democracy and the Loeb Institute for Religious Freedom co-hosted a seminar on Martin Luther King, Jr.’s political theology on October 11, 2018, at George Washington University in Washington, DC.

Panel discussions examined Dr. King’s theological training and perspective, his role in and criticisms of American civil religion, and his views on international affairs.

Speakers included the famed Pentecostal minister Eugene Rivers, Jacqueline Rivers (Seymour Institute), Gary Dorrien (Union Theological Seminary), Marcia Pally (NYU), David Daniels (McCormick Theological Seminary), Samuel Goldman (GWU), Joshua Mitchell (Georgetown), Vincent Lloyd (Villanova University), Mark Tooley (IRD), and James Patterson (Ave Maria University).
