Providence Magazine, a project of the Institute on Religion and Democracy (IRD), hosted a conference debuting its Winter 2016 issue. Providence held two panel discussions and a lunchtime lecture in conjunction with The Institute of World Politics (IWP) on March 2nd. Speakers covered topics including women in combat, the Islamic State, and the crisis in Syria.
IRD broadcast the event live on Periscope. Below, I’ve posted replays of the videos. For future events hosted by IRD, follow us on the Periscope app by searching @TheIRD or online at periscope.tv/TheIRD.
By way of background, IRD launched Providence last fall as a resource for Protestants — especially Evangelicals — to better understand American foreign policy issues. Those interested can subscribe to receive the print edition of Providence here and email updates here. Also, make sure to visit www.ProvidenceMag.com to read articles posted daily.
The latest issue of Providence (pictured at right) includes articles from top foreign policy experts. A number of these experts also spoke at Wednesday’s event, including Rebeccah Heinrichs and Paul Coyer. Providence Associate Editor Susannah Black also presented.
So without further ado, please find below IRD’s Periscope broadcasts of the event, along with short bios of each speaker, courtesy of IWP.
