Lukewarm Christianity Doesn’t Cut It

Today’s guest writer is Donald James Parker, CEO of Sword of the Spirit Publishing. The following is Parker’s new review of Chelsen Vicari’s Distortion: How the New Christian Left is Twisting the Gospel & Damaging the Faith, originally published by Examiner.com

Occasionally I run across a book that I consider so beneficial that I just have to recommend it. Just this morning on my daily exercise walk I finished one such book, by a young lady named Chelsen Vicari. The title is Distortion, which doesn’t really give you much indication what the book contains. The subtitle is much more revealing: How the New Christian Left is Twisting the Gospel and Damaging the Faith. That’s a mouthful of words and also of content.

The Bible distinctly says that there will come a great falling away – where even the very elect are close to being pulled away by deceptive and seductive leaders and teachers. This type of warning should be a “hello!” moment which causes our antennas to go up and scan all around us incessantly and tirelessly (like Number 5 in the movie Short Circuit), searching for relevant input. We must ingest and digest the information that can aid us in our ability to keep our faith vehicle on the right road and in the proper lane. Unfortunately many “believers” are more caught up in the affairs of the world than the affairs of their souls. Their antennas appear to be rusting from disuse.

Distortion captures the essence of the danger the body of Christ is facing, not from those seek to suppress the name of Jesus but those who seek to appease society by offering a flavor of Christianity that doesn’t require its adherents to set themselves apart from the world. If I didn’t already know, I’d say this book was written by someone who had lived for many years on this planet and had experienced the big shift in our American society. I’m still quite amazed that it was penned by a twenty-six-year old. Her analytical skills show off her training in this area. Her grasp on the problem and manner of addressing it demonstrates a maturity beyond her years. When crusading against falsehoods, the temptation to attack without quarter always raises its ugly head. Chelsen dodges that bullet, though acknowledging the temptation, and urges her readers to speak the truth in love. Our job is not to destroy those who hold opinions contrary to our own. The goal is to win them over to truth. Chelsen once held some of the views she now renounces so skillfully. She realizes the enemy ranks are comprised of people just like her – deceived at the moment but fully capable of seeing the light. Chelsen points out that our job is the help them find it.

The Bible makes it sufficiently clear that friendship with the world is enmity with God. We are not to embrace those carnal ways. But when people skillfully and compassionately explain that love means tolerating what that unreliable book, The Bible, has labeled an abomination, listeners get confused. How can those people be wrong? Aren’t they showing the love that Jesus told us we must have? Aren’t they showing more love than those right wing nuts who crusade against abortion, homosexuality, and free love? This is the dilemma that the body of Christ faces. We’re being accused of being loveless because we choose to follow God’s definition of love and not man’s. This is a wedge that Satan is using to divide the church. We who cling to truth cannot capitulate in the face of this pressure. We can’t bring unity by abandoning God’s standards. Our only hope is to show those who have wandered that they are fighting against God. That sounds like Mission Impossible. This book can help tremendously. Check it out!

The State of Florida is about to open bear hunting season, due to an overpopulation of bears (they’re becoming nuisances, even dangerous, in some areas), so already the greenie-weenies at the United Church of Christ down the street are standing there with their SAVE THE BEARS sign, with that righteous glow on their faces. They don’t believe in saving humans’ souls (I’m not certain they even believe in souls), they firmly believe earth is overpopulated with humans, they heartily approve the killing of unborn children, but they get into a snit that hunters might take out a few bears, just as they’ll get into a snit when some serial killer is given the death penalty. I do not think “lukewarm” is a word I would use to describe liberal churches, they can run very “hot” over their pet issues, none of which is remotely Christian.

    Hi,

These robed hireling Dog-Collared Priests have no place in the ministry of jesus but Satan that create divisions and sectarian riots.

Royal Priests are the sons of Most High Supernatural Father God in which we are concerned with souls that have no gender, colour or race. Fake Priests in Churches being men of letters devoid of holy spirit, “common sense” talk of races and genders. No wonder people are killed in the worship of Satan. People killed in Iraq, Syria, Ukraine, etc. is the work of robed Anti-Christs in Churches.

We have approached the End Times and the Tares are getting bundled up in Israel; see Matt. 13v24-30. Wholesome destructions of Tares, unfaithful to tribal fathers will take place all over the world.

Jesus came to get rid of these Rabbis in Dog-Collars and you have got them in one form or the other to fulfil Matt. 12v43-45, what do you expect? They are greater hypocrites than before the arrival of Jesus. Jesus threw Judas Iscariot out at the Last Supper for he was a Thief stealing money from the Purse. People donate money at Churches; this Dog-Collared Priest dips his hand into the donations as his salary. No wonder a retired Vicar when addressed as a Vicar by the BBC presenter Nicky Campbell objected strongly and told him that he is no more a Vicar like a Policeman in uniform. All the life he was serving Mammon with a Dog-Collar making fools of the people that he is a man of God. In God, we have Royal Priests and they enjoy Fellowships.

If you study the present organisations of the Churches, they are based upon the Synagogues; some are Pharisees and the others more than Sadducees. At, the times of Jesus, these Blind Rabbis had two or three divisions and today in Jesus, more than 300 Cults when Jesus proclaimed One Fold, Church of God, headed by One Shepherd Christ Jesus, our Bridegroom.

These Churches are like blind men defining an elephant and their Dog-Collared hireling Priests are the most happy job satisfaction people fleecing the devotees of Jesus called turning stones, simple-minded people, into Bread and Butter.

SHAME TO SUCH ORGANISATIONS ESPECIALLY THE COE HEADED BY QUEEN, THE HEAD OF MAMMON IN GREAT BRITAIN.

Luke 16v16: Law and Prophets were till John, the Baptist whilst lowest in the Royal Kingdom of God, a Saint, is greater than John, the Baptist, also known as the Angel of Israel.

We are no more under the yoke of sins and these Dog-Collared Rabbis but Free Royal Priests that enjoy the Fellowships.
