The Sudanese Marginalized Forum in USA, Sudan’s political forces who believe in the need for a fundamental change in Sudan, along with American friends and activists, will organize a rally in front of the Qatari Embassy in Washington D.C., condemning the position of the State of Qatar for supporting Sudan’s National Congress Party (NCP) terrorist regime. Qatar has provided financial, political, diplomatic, and media support to the NCP regime.

Qatar, which claims leadership in the “Arab Spring” movement to overthrow Middle Eastern dictatorships and build some sort of democracy, at the same time it is strengthening the worst-ever totalitarian dictatorship regime in the world, the NCP regime in Khartoum. This regime is practicing genocidal war in many of Sudan’s regions, especially Darfur, Nuba Mountains, Blue Nile, and is also threatening the same to the Beja in eastern Sudan. In addition, the NCP is destroying the Nubians’ land and ancient cultural heritage by building dams in the far north of Sudan.

While attacking, killing, arresting and displacing innocent citizens in the Nuba Mountains, Blue Nile, Beja, and Darfur State, the Sudanese government prevents delivery of food and medicine to the needy, using them as weapons to aggravate the conditions of the Sudanese people. The regime has refused access to the media, especially in war-affected areas. Moreover, the Sudanese government is using the country’s resources and funds from donors to buy weapons and empower its security apparatus to restrict freedom and increase the poverty and suffering of the people. Finally, stable and healthy bilateral relations with South Sudan and Abyei, and other outstanding issues will never be resolved under the continuation of the NCP regime, a government that has violated all the agreements it has signed.

The majority, but marginalized, people of Sudan seek to restructure the country for the benefit and security of Sudan, the Republic of South Sudan, the African continent, and the world. Unless there is immediate and fundamental change, the marginalized groups of Sudan will exercise their right to self-determination for a better future. Unlike the recent “freedom” movements in such places as Egypt, Libya, and Tunisia, this will not be a future controlled by Muslim Brotherhood or Al Qaeda affiliated powers, but by people who want true freedom and a secular democracy for all Sudanese.
