From February 13 – 20, the Central Committee of the World Council of Churches gathered in Geneva, Switzerland. During the weeklong conference, the ecumenical organization’s chief governing body welcomed new member churches, issued policy statements on a number of issues, and initiated procedures to name a new general secretary by the end of the year.
James D. Berkley, director of IRD’s Presbyterian Action program, was in Geneva to observe and report on the gathering.
