SAVE SUDAN’S NUBA MOUNTAINS FROM ETHNIC CLEANSING
Now, just as South Sudan is set to become an independent country on July 9, 2011, the Islamic government of Sudan has started another war of extermination in the Nuba Mountains, a region just over the border from South Sudan that the Arabs refer to as “South Kordofan.”
After rigging the May 2011 elections for governor of the South Kordofan, so that their candidate, an International Criminal Court-indicted war criminal and the planner of the genocide in Darfur, Ahmed Haroun, was declared the winner, Khartoum began attacking the Nuba Mountains on Sunday, June 5. The Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) and Popular Defense Forces (PDF), a militia comprised of Misseriya Arabs who are also known as the Al Qaeda of Sudan, are carrying out the murderous attack of ethnic cleansing and racial purging on the Nuba, the indigenous, black Africans. The attack is taking place on the ground, along with daily aerial bombardment.
The IRD website now has a new section devoted to news updates, articles, and suggested actions you can take to fight against this ethnic cleansing taking place in the Nuba Mountains.
Sincerely,
