A native of Sumter, South Carolina, Steve Hoskins teaches courses in Christian history and ministry as Professor of Religion at the School of Theology and Christian Ministry at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee. Hoskins is an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene.

A graduate of Trevecca and Nazarene Theological Seminary, he earned a Ph.D. in public history at Middle Tennessee State University. Hoskins serves as the president of the Wesleyan Historical Society, promotional secretary of the Wesleyan Theological Society, and editor and director of Publications of the Charles Wesley Society.
