Grayson Jang

Grayson Jang was born and raised in South Korea. He is majoring in international studies and U.S. and International Law at Handong Global University in South Korea. He recently completed a year of political science studies at John Brown University in Arkansas.

When he was fifteen, he witnessed the hopeless reality of North Korea over the Yalu River in China and decided to walk in the light of enhancing general human rights.

Grayson was raised in a Methodist church; however, at Handong Global University, he started attending a Presbyterian church that serves North Korean defectors in the local area. While he served North Korean defectors, he continued to work for increasing North Korean human rights awareness as a conference director and an academy president at Handong Global University.

When his vocation seems to overwhelm him, this quote President John F. Kennedy kept on his desk inspires him to carry on his work again: “O God, thy sea is so great and my boat is so small.” He will return to South Korea this autumn to finish his senior year. After graduation, Grayson plans to attend law school in the United States and pursue a career in International Law.
