Globalizing United Methodism & Sexuality

United Methodism is one of two denominations among the “seven sisters” of mainline Protestantism that have not officially liberalized their teachings about marriage and sex. (The other is the American Baptist Church.) Mainline denominations are the historic Protestant churches dating to America’s founding that long were central to sustaining civic life. I would add the Reformed Church in America to your list as they have yet to capitulate on sexuality either, though it remains a hotly debated topic.

  2. Skipper says:

Same-sex relationships are so unfaithful to God. The bible is so clear on this. God’s people cannot get along with those practicing or promoting sexual perversion. God expects this of His people and has every right as a holy God to expect this of His people.

Good people and whole congregations of good people are beginning to leave the United Methodist Church in the United States over sexual perversion and this is as it should be. Help (separation from those who so greatly offend God through their sexual practices in the U.S.) must come by February at the latest.

Those who have chosen a homosexual lifestyle and behavior must learn that life is pointless unless one has lived in fear and obedience to God. Life is brief. Judgment is coming. There is no time to embrace the world’s sad wisdom.

February brings General Conference 2019 and with it the opportunity for the United Methodist Church to return to life as God envisions for His people. The godless perversion that is dragging down the United Methodist Church in the U.S. must end. Come Lord Jesus, help us!
