Supreme Court Protects Prolife Rights in Abortion Clinic Case

on June 26, 2014

Moments ago, IRD staff joined the victory cheers outside of the U.S. Supreme Court as we listened to the McCullen v. Coakley ruling. This decision is not only a huge victory for the pro-life movement, but also hopefully a forecast of the decisions to come regarding Hobby Lobby and religious freedom.

Ruling unanimously, the Supreme Court chose to overturn a 2007 Massachusetts law that created a “buffer zone” banning pro-life demonstrators from standing on sidewalks and public streets within 35 feet of abortion clinics’ driveways and entrances. For the pro-abortion movement, this was a strategy used to silence peaceful pro-life prayer warriors, sidewalk counsels and protestors speaking up for the rights of unborn babies and the health of their expectant mothers.

As the Church, we should thank God this day for the Supreme Court’s steps to uphold citizens’ freedom of speech on public sidewalks and streets. We also pray that the nine Justices’ sentiments to uphold freedom of speech extends to our constitutionally guaranteed freedom of religion.

On Monday, June 30, 2014 at 10:00am, the Supreme Court will rule on Sebelius v. Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc. and ultimately will declare whether or not Americans will be forced to deny their deeply held convictions for the sake of employer-provided contraception and controversial abortifacients.

IRD staff will be reporting live from the Supreme Court on Monday morning. For up-to-the-minute monitoring, please follow @TheIRD, @ChelsenVicari, and @BigJFuller on Twitter.

Having attended several pro-life rallies, I know that we were more than willing for anyone to videotape what we did, that our behavior was above reproach, particularly if you wish to compare pro-lifers with the typical misfit males and females (it is not always easy to determine) who show up loud and vulgar at a pro-gay or pro-abortion rally. They seem to have a mass case of Tourette’s syndrome, using vulgarity (and sporting vulgar T-shirts) like some 5th grader trying to shock his parents.

    Speaking about vulgar?
Don’t forget those “Pro-Lifers” who proudly display the bloody gore of an aborted fetus on 4ft x 8ft placards!
And if you (Liberal Kuhn) have difficulty distinguishing between genders of those attending, consider that you might be prejudiced by a closeted lifestyle…. your own?!

What’s wrong with that? Telling the truth is never wrong. Perform an abortion, you end up with a dead fetus. The creeps who do this for a living ought to be “outed.” they are trash.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion regarding the Right to Choose, and yes, decisions regarding Life, are serious and deserve prayerful pondering.
“Outing” of a medical professional seems like a tactic practiced by a mob. If you don’t possess a womb…leave these matters to those who do!

If men’s opinions on abortion don’t count, why should we listen to yours?

    Good point, Ben!
I trust most of the expounding over this subject falls on deaf ears, and even if it were ONLY women who responded, it would be those pesky males who would insist on having the last word.
You, nor anyone needs to hear what I have to say, but of course, that won’t stop my participating.
    Important matters for sure!
