Update! Prayers Answered! Akinola Released!

on December 24, 2013

Earlier today I posted the very disturbing news that the Most Reverend Peter J. Akinola (primate-emeritus) had been kidnapped.

Many of you contacted me on Facebook and email to assure me that you would be praying for the Archbishop.

Not long after that (less than two hours!), the Rev. Canon Bola’ Ogunyannwo left a comment informing that Archbishop Akinola and his driver had been released! After that, the release was confirmed by the current Primate of All Nigeria, the Most Rev. Nicholas Okoh, via our own CANA East Bishop, the Rt. Rev. Julian Dobbs. Praise be to GOD!

Will you please join me in:

1. Thanking the Lord for the release and safety of  Archbishop Peter and his driver.

2. Praying that in the same swift manner that God answered this prayer, that He will answer the prayers of millions for an end to the violent conflict taking place in South Sudan, for the release from prison in Iran of Pastor Saeed Abedini, and for so many others.

3. Praying that God will move our hearts to pray as passionately for ALL our Christian brothers and sisters around the world who are persecuted for the sake of the Gospel as we have for Archbishop Akinola.

We rejoice in this Christmas miracle, and ask You, oh Lord, for many more.
