As Episcopal Church officials struggle with how to re-organize an unwieldy bureaucracy and legislative body formed for a much larger church, more bad news is dripping out.

Carolyn Woodall, the first transgender deacon in the Episcopal Diocese of San Joaquin, led the Gospel procession during the Integrity Eucharist at Episcopal General Convention in Indianapolis in 2012. Woodall's mission has been moved into a formerly Anglican church building.
