An unspoken “ecumenical deal” between Mainline Protestant Christians and Jews to not criticize Israel — and thereby prevent accusations of anti-Semitism — is “over” according to an anti-Israel activist who spoke Saturday at United Methodist Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C.
Mark Braverman of the Palestinian Christian advocacy group Kairos USA addressed a Friends of Sabeel North America (FOSNA) seminar in which several dozen retirement-age activists studied the Palestinian Christian document Kairos Palestine, planned boycotts of an Israeli-manufactured kitchen appliance and sang Palestinian-themed hymns to piano accompaniment.
