Sadly, four Anglican bishops in the Middle East have joined to endorse international blasphemy laws.
“In view of the current inflamed situation in several countries in response to the production of a film in the USA which evidently intends to offend our Muslim brothers and sisters by insulting the Prophet Mohammed, and in view of the fact that in recent years similar offensive incidents have occurred in some European countries which evoked massive and violent responses worldwide, we hereby suggest that an international declaration be negotiated that outlaws the intentional and deliberate insulting or defamation of persons (such as prophets), symbols, texts and constructs of belief deemed…”

………………and a crucifix in a bottle of urine was once presented as art ,where were the bishops then?
Maybe that was not such a popular stand to take.
Maybe toleration only applies when it is convenient ?
Another case of sentimentality triumphing over sentiment.
When commenting above,I didn’t know that the bishops were on troubled foreign soil.
The letter from the cowardly bishops refers to “the Prophet Mohammed.” Recently Obama did the same. Why are non-Muslims referring to Mohammed as “the Prophet,” when only Muslims regard him as “the Prophet”? Can you imagine any non-Christian alluding to “Jesus Christ, Savior and Lord”?
The Muslims must be elated. Bishops and – even better – the American president already speaking as if the religion of “the Prophet Mohammed” ruled the world.
They are so tone-deaf to their hypocrisy. Good thing for her that Christians don’t get violent over the Vagina Monologues, otherwise she’d have to give up her hobby.
Ironic how the liberals are the ones calling for censorship, eh?
I was in college when the Mohammed cartoon controversy broke. A literature teacher that semester said “in the future we might need to curtail speech and art that offends Muslims.”
To make matters worse, she was heavily involved with the yearly campus production of The Vagina Monologues, along with the LGBT and Women’s Studies programs. Something tells me the same Muslims who were rioting would not want to hear her scream the “c” word or talk about lesbian sex on stage. But when I asked, she never considered that, or took back what she said earlier.
What sickly cowards. Christianity may not be their forte’.
