How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?

Forgive us if we assume that repentance and right living starts at home. We only strive to follow in the ways taught by Christ our Lord.
Of course, those embracing violence are wrong. Just as those who invoke violence. We are opposed to both and, if those invoking violence are HERE, then we begin with the correction HERE, and then work on the corrections THERE.

So America–a nation where there is supposedly separation of church and state–must operate according to a peculiar reading of Christian ethics that says it is illegitimate to oppose injustice and violence as long as one is not perfect?

? Where did I say it was wrong to oppose injustice? That would be a horrible thing and I would never encourage opposing injustice. It’s a good thing I didn’t call for that, eh?
No, what I encouraged was following Jesus’ words/teachings pretty literally and faithfully. My point was that IF we have some injustice happening that we MUST oppose it (sort of the opposite of what you concluded). We must oppose it within our own family/tribe/community/nation AND oppose it elsewhere, as well. But repentance begins at home.
That was my point. Do you think that is a mistaken view? It seems to me to be a faithful keeping of Jesus’ teachings.

For the Left, tolerance and inclusiveness are for ABC – Anyone But Christians, or at least evangelical Christians. If a liberal had been on the Titanic, he would have apologized to the iceberg. But for Christian conservatives, it’s open season on them.

AMEN to that, J S Lang!! You are absolutely right! Leftists, progressives, gay advocates, whatever you want to refer to them as, are fiercely attacking Christianity in the name of tolerance and diversity, which is anything BUT tolerant!
